Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard

We completed a digital signage install a few months back for the Ville de Montreal at the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard in Ahuntsic but didn't let anyone know! They were doing a complete revamp of their signage and a pioneering city official decided that a digital signage system for their informational boards would be the icing on the cake, so to speak. They now have six LCD screens throughout their main building that disseminate pertinant information about the complexe, its activities, events and members.

This is quite an important install for us since the complexe is one-of-a-kind and the probably the largest in terms of publicly-run sports and athletic centers in North America. Also, this is one of the only digital signage systems of its type that the City of Montreal has setup in its edifices.

ChannelView Digital Signage Solution

We've added some neat new features to our ChannelView digital signage solution, more specificly our software. Our screen designer allows us to create and manage an unlimited (or almost) number of "Zones". Each zone can have its own playlist / loop.

The zones can be visual or non-visual. Visual zones contain media files that can be seen on screen such as a Flash animation or a video file. Non-visual zones can contain support files that visual files can use. This gives you more flexibility when interfacing with databases or other, more advanced functions.

Non-visual zones can also read audio files giving you the possibility to manage your in-store radio with the same hardware that's powering your digital signage, saving you hardware /software costs!




Mirada Media is always looking for new insights and perspectives in order to offer the best digital signage solutions the market has to offer. In an effort to be continuously learning and improving, on May 17th and 18th in 2006, we attended the Digital Retailing Expo in Chicago.

The Digital Retailing Expo is the largest and most comprehensive conference and international tradeshow dedicated to digital signage, screen-based in-store media networks, and digital retailing solutions. The event had two important elements including an exhibition hall and comprehensive conference sessions. The expo included leading companies showcasing the latest in hardware, software and other services and solutions in the digital retailing industry.

We attended all of the conferences and absorbed so much pertinent information that we can now eagerly pass on to our customers. The digital retailing sessions offered a plethora of topics such as: measurement of ROI, effective content development, industry trends and best practices, CRM solutions, choice of vendor partners and a whole host of valuable case studies. We were particularly impressed with NEC’s early adoption of the industry and their continuous efforts in building quality screens specifically designed for the retail signage industry.

The best part of our trip was meeting and getting to know so many interesting people in the industry and building relationships with the major retail chains, advertising companies, retail consulting firms, top brands, and integrators they are associated with. We look forward to sharing all of our acquired knowledge of this growing industry in future Digital Retailing Expos we will be attending.
